Position Title/Classification: Administrative Assistant

Department: Administration/Licensing

Description: The purpose of this Administration/Licensing department position is to greet the public, provide information and perform responsible administrative, clerical and record keeping work to assist the Town Manager, Assistant Town Manager, the Select Board, and provide customer service assistance. Supports all administration/ licensing functions and provides some assistance to town departments as assigned. 40 hours per week, non-union, FLSA-Exempt position based at Truro Town Hall (24 Town Hall Road, Truro). Typical schedule is 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Position Pay Scale: Grade 4: Annual Salary Range $62,223 (Step A) to $81,187 (Step J), starting pay depending on qualifications.  A cost-of-living-adjustment to salary for FY2026 (July 1, 2025- June 30, 2026) is expected to raise the salary amounts listed, contingent on Select Board approval.

Qualifications for the Position: Possession of a high school diploma, or equivalent; and a minimum of three years of office management or administrative experience. Associate’s or bachelor’s level college degree in business, management, public administration or related field preferred. Five years of office management experience preferred. Familiarity with municipal government and a working knowledge of administrative/ office management and municipal operations preferred.
